Species Information

Birdsnest Coral is one of the easiest and fastest-growing SPS species to maintain. It goes by other names including: Seriatopora Bird’s Nest, Needle, Finger, and Brush Coral. The Birdsnest Coral is a small polyp stony (SPS) coral that can have either delicate thin branches or more sturdy branches. It’s found in a variety of shades.

Aquarium Care

The Birdsnest Coral requires both strong light and moderate water flow for good health. Your Birdsnest Coral may grow quickly and into different shapes, therefore it should be positioned in a place that will allow for expansion. Calcium, magnesium and alkalinity levels should be monitored for optimal conditions.

Feeding & Nutrition

When kept in an established reef aquarium with proper lighting, water chemistry and movement, the Birdsnest Coral will not require additional feeding. However, it will feed on micro-plankton and foods designed for filter feeding invertebrates.
